Mukuthi /Nath

We know that Ears are for hearing , eyes  are for seeing and similarly nose  is for sensual smell and breathing. How many of us know that it also connects with emotional, sexual and romantic proportions too??

Nose piercing is always done using a needle at the age of five to seven in olden times. It is strongly recommended to use only pure gold for nose rings as silver causes irritations, delays in healing and oxide effects inside the wound  and cause allergic reactions , lumps etc.  Even it may leave a permanent black mark in your nose.

In Ayurveda it is said that the nose is linked with the female reproductive organs and hence nose piercing is supposed to make childbirth little easier.

Also there is close connection between the nose and sexual reflexes.  In ancient time people used to predict a person’s character by observing his/her nose which is acclaimed in "Samudrika Lakshanam”. Our ancestors believed that a large nose was sign of a large sexual organ for male and a women with little nose is believed to have small sexual apparatus or the desire to have/indulge in sexual pleasure is minimal.

The Abharana Bhushana Vidhi states , wearing a nose rings or nose stud is a must for women, if one needs to enjoy life in its pleasurable count . The poisonous emission of carbon is minimized during the sexual union due to wearing of metallic ( gold/silver) ornament in nose. Also ophthalmologists believe that , it is very difficult to control or hypnotize or mesmerize who wear such type of nostril rings as it controls the brain wavelength  thus avoiding a surrender to the opponent who is trying to hypnotize. It is also believed that Mukuthi/nath reduces the respiratory problems.
